Along the Parkway, you can view more than 5 million shining holiday lights throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Some of the sculptures on display include native animals of the Smokies, the 12 days of Christmas in lights, and even a visit from Santa Claus and his reindeer. The lights will remain bright until the middle of February, which gives you plenty of time to crank up the holiday tunes and take a drive through the Smokies.
2. Spend the Day Outdoors
A big part of getting in the spirit of the holidays is spending time outdoors to appreciate the marvelous Smoky Mountain scenery. The sessions are 90 minutes long and you can fly down the hill as many times as you would like during your session. After the sun goes down, be sure to head over to the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park for the stunning Lights Over Gatlinburg event. This year’s event is bigger and brighter than ever before with the addition of 20 new dancing trees and a huge 30-foot multi-colored tree that is animated with music!
