This loop trail is located near Gatlinburg and is only 0.5 miles long, making it a good choice for families with young children or adults who have trouble walking long distances. 3. Laurel Falls

4. Cataract Falls Trail
The Cataract Falls Trail is another of the best hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains, as it offers amazing views of the 25 foot Cataract Falls and is only a total round trip of 0.75 miles, making it an ideal hike for families with young kids or anyone who has trouble walking long distances. There are lots of great spots to enjoy the views along this trail, plus it is located less than 2 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, making it an easy excursion to take with the family!
5. Porters Creek Trail
Another of the best hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains for families is the Porters Creek Trail, which offers a 4-mile round trip that will take you past old forests, wildflower patches, historic homesteads, and a cemetery.
